What is Number Sense?
- Number sense is understanding how numbers work.
- It helps us to recognise numbers and what they mean.
- With number sense, we can compare, add, and subtract numbers easily.
- It is like having a special ability to play with numbers.
Examples:
- Counting snacks:
- When you have 5 cookies and you eat 2, you know you have 3 left!
- Using money:
- If you have 10 and a toy costs 4, you can figure out how much money you'll have left: 10 - 4 = 6.
- Sharing toys:
- If you have 8 toy cars and you want to give 4 to your friend, you know you'll have 4 toy cars left!
