How do we write three-digit numbers?

  • A three-digit number has three places: hundreds, tens, and ones.
  • The first digit shows how many hundreds there are.
  • The second digit shows how many tens there are.
  • The last digit shows how many ones there are.
Examples:
  • Number 234:
    • It has 2 hundreds (200), 3 tens (30), and 4 ones (4).
    • If you put them together, it makes 234!

  • Number 512:
    • It has 5 hundreds (500), 1 ten (10), and 2 ones (2).
    • When you add them, it equals 512!

  • Number 879:
    • It has 8 hundreds (800), 7 tens (70), and 9 ones (9).
    • When you join them, it becomes 879!
