What are the Phases of the Moon?

The Moon goes through different phases as it orbits around the Earth. These phases show us different parts of the Moon that are lit by the Sun. The main phases are New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon, and Last Quarter.

Example: When the Moon is full, we see a bright round shape in the sky. When it is a new moon, we cannot see it at all because the dark side is facing us.
