  • Unicus Global Xtempore Olympiad (UGXO) - Class 2

    What is good Communication Skills? Ability to express our thoughts clearly so that others can understand us. An extenpore is a great way to learn communication skills from young age. It helps students organize their thoughts and think on the spot. At Unicus, we aim to come up with platforms where students can enhance future ready skills and Unicus Global Xtempore Olympiad (UGXO) is one of them. It has a simple three round format, to encourage little ones to speak about things they enjoy in their own words and original ideas.

    Our aim is to develop good communication skills from young age because it is one common skill that can help an individual in almost all aspects of life.

    Unicus Class 2 Xtempore Olympiad Pattern

    UGXO is an online extempore olympiad for class KG to 10 and students can participate from comfort of their homes. The exam consists of three rounds

    1) Warm Up Round (25 points) - Students can spin the wheel on their screen to reveal the secret topic. Warm Up round will consist of a friendly, easy going topic to settle their nerves and prepare them for next round. They will get 30 seconds to think and 60 seconds to speak. 

    2) Creative Round (35 points) - Students can pick a card on their screen and it will reveal a surprise prompt. They will get 45 seconds to think and 60 seconds to speak.

    3) X factor Round (40 points) - Students can roll the dice to reveal their topic and since this round carries maximum weightage, they should speak with confidence and flow.They will get 60 seconds to think and 60 seconds to speak.

    Unicus Global Xtempore Olympiad consists of three rounds.     Unicus Global Xtempore Olympiad is a platform which rewards quick on the spot thinking and structured speaking skills. Regular practice by speaking about everyday activities and topics that aligns with their syllabus will lead to improvement in pace and structure. Instead of memorising few topics, students should focus on their ability to think and speak on their own.They can record their practice session and review theselves on clarity and speed.

    For Unicus Global Xtempore Olympiad Registration for Class 2, students must complete the registration process through their school or individually. The Olympiad is open to all students.     Registration Through School:

    To register for the Unicus Global Xtempore (UGXO), follow these steps:

    1. Confirm that you are a student from Class KG to 10 to be eligible.
    2. Schools registered with Unicus Olympiads will receive a prospectus and registration forms.
    3. If your school is not registered, email at [email protected] to request the prospectus.
    4. Ensure that schools submit the completed registration forms at least one month before the final exam.
