  • Unicus Global Xtempore Olympiad (UGXO) - Class 1

    At Unicus we believe little ones are born with curious minds and a unique approach towards common things we see everyday in our lives. They love talking about things and at times amaze us with thier unique out of the box explanations. We encourage children expressing themselves with confidence and decided to provide them a platform to do so! Unicus Global Xtempore Olympiad (UGXO) has a simple three round format, to encourage little ones to speak about things they enjoy in their own words and original ideas.

    Our aim is to develop on the spot thinking and good communication skills from early age.

    Unicus Class 1 Xtempore Olympiad Pattern

    UGXO is an online extempore olympiad for class 1 and students can participate from comfor of their homes. The exam consists of three rounds

    1) Warm Up Round (25 points) - Students can spin the wheel on their screen to reveal the secret topic. Warm Up round will consist of a friendly, easy going topic to settle their nerves and prepare them for next round. They will get 30 seconds to think and 60 seconds to speak. 

    2) Creative Round (35 points) - Students can pick a card on their screen and it will reveal a surprise prompt. They will get 45 seconds to think and 60 seconds to speak.

    3) X factor Round (40 points) - Students can roll the dice to reveal their topic and since this round carries maximum weightage, they should speak with confidence and flow.They will get 60 seconds to think and 60 seconds to speak.

    NOTE: Please note that Class 1 extempore Olympiad will be parent/teacher-assisted.

    How to Prepare for the Unicus Global Xtempore Olympiad for Class 1?

    Unicus Global Xtempore Olympiad requires a practical approach for preparation as unlike other Olympiads it is not based on specific formulas or predifined answers. Students are encouraged to think freely and express their own ideas in organised confident manner. Students can prepare for UGXO by practicing speaking on simple topics everyday, recording their practice sessions and working on pace, clarity and struture. Confidence grows with practice, and we encourage students to think and communicate freely without any pressure to memorise long and complex speeches.

    How to Register for UGXO for Class 1

    For Unicus Global Xtempore Olympiad Registration for Class 1, students must complete the registration process through their school or individually. The Olympiad is open to all students.     Registration Through School:

    To register for the Unicus Global Xtempore (UGXO), follow these steps:

    1. Confirm that you are a student from Class KG to 10 to be eligible.
    2. Schools registered with Unicus Olympiads will receive a prospectus and registration forms.
    3. If your school is not registered, email at [email protected] to request the prospectus.
    4. Ensure that schools submit the completed registration forms at least one month before the final exam.

    STEP 1: Visit at https://www.unicusolympiads.com/registration.
    STEP 2: Complete all the required details in the forms.
    STEP 3: Click on preview and pay button.
