The Unicus Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (UAIO) is a competitive exam that can be taken by students in Class 7. On this level, students start to shift their knowledge of AI concepts to designing, analysing, and assessing intelligent systems. The test is aimed at building solid bases in programming, machine learning, neural networks, and applications of AI in the real world.
The future of all industries, including the healthcare and finance sectors, the entertainment industry, and the education sector, is being shaped by artificial intelligence. The UAIO Class 7 is used to make the students realise how such systems are constructed, trained, and applied to real-life situations. It also exposes the students to Python programming, data management and model development in AI, which they need in modern technology.
Students who attend UAIO enhance their technical knowledge and improve their analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and complete their rationale, allowing them to compete on the highest level and work in the world of AI and technologies in the future.
The UAIO is an online test, which means that the student is able to take the test in the comfort of their home. The test is based on multiple-choice items on different concepts of Class 7 artificial intelligence. The curriculum is based on theoretical knowledge and practice.
The exam duration is 60 minutes. Three mock tests (with a free trial) will also be offered to the students to rehearse before the final exam. The mock tests may be undertaken three times each. The test will be separated into two parts:
Classic Section
Definition:
This segment challenges fundamental ideas, knowledge, and the fundamental use of AI subjects.
Students are supposed to find the right answers, define concepts, and use new concepts in known situations.
Scholar Section
Definition:
This part is a test that requires Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS).
It contains analytical, scenario-based and problem-solving questions in which students are required to apply concepts in new and unfamiliar circumstances.
Exam Highlights:
Mode: Online
Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Duration: 60 minutes
Negative Marking: No
Language: British English
Class 7 UAIO is intended to expose students to real-life AI development and use. It establishes a connection between abstractive learning and practice based on the concepts of programming and machine learning.
Key Topics Covered
1. Python for AI (Basics)
Definition:
Python is a programming language which is extensively applied in artificial intelligence.
Students learn:
basic syntax and commands
variables and simple logic
writing small programs
Real-life connection:
Chatbots and recommendation systems are only a few of the many AI systems that are made in Python.
2. Python (CSV and visualisation) data
Students get to know how to work with data through Python.
CSV files: reading and storing structured data.
Visualisation: presentation of data in the form of graphs and charts.
Example:
Using charts to determine patterns in student marks or weather data.
3. Neural Networks - What They Do
Definition:
Neural networks are AI systems based on the human brain that learn patterns from data.
Students understand:
How inputs are processed
How patterns are recognised
How AI learns from examples
Real-life example:
Face authentication and image tagging in social media apps.
4. ML Model Testing and Training
Students can understand how an AI system works and is made.
Training: Train our model using data.
Testing: testing the performance of the model.
Example:
Train the AI to identify images of animals and check whether it can properly recognise new images or not.
5. LLMs and Text-Based AI
Definition:
Large Language Models (LLMs) are AI systems which comprehend and produce human language.
Students explore:
How AI writes text
How chatbots work
How questions are answered
Example:
Essay writing, question answering or content summarising AI tools.
6. AI Project Cycle (6 Stages)
Learners are taught the full cycle of developing an AI.
Typical stages include the following:
Problem identification
Data collection
Data preparation
Model building
Testing
Deployment
Example:
Developing an AI to determine the performance of students stepwise.
7. Artificial Intelligence, Society, SDGs, and Data Privacy.
Students can learn the effects of AI on society.
AI contribution to the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Importance of data privacy
Trustworthy and moral AI utilisation.
Example:
AI in the medical field or climate control, and why information should be processed securely.
The syllabus will make sure that the students are not merely taught the principles of AI but also know how to use AI safely and efficiently in a real-life situation.
To prepare UAIO at Class 7, there must be a balanced approach that makes for a clear understanding of concepts and practice of programming, as well as analytical thinking.
Sequential preparation plan
1. Build strong fundamentals
Learn the important concepts, including:
Python basics
machine learning
neural networks
AI systems
2. Training in programming and logic.
Write simple Python programs and learn how to follow logic step by step.
3. Study using real-life cases.
Connect the topics with the real world:
Chatbots – LLMs
Recommendations – ML
Face Recognition – Computer Vision
4. Focus on the application-based questions.
Class 7 is the one where students are expected to apply, not memorise.
5. Redefine processes and definitions.
Important areas:
AI project cycle
training vs testing
classification concepts
6. Make good use of preparation materials.
UAIO provides:
mock tests
practice questions
study guides
Practice makes the students realise the exam pattern and become faster and more accurate.
Smart Tip:
Success at this level is pegged on the basis of knowledge + practice + application + logical thought.
