Unicus Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (UAIO) is an international competitive examination that is offered to students of Class 6. At this phase, students will shift their level of simple knowledge about AI and will develop a more systematic concept of how intelligent systems operate and make decisions and how they are applied in the real world.
Artificial intelligence has entered the life of the modern world. AI tools have found their place in education, business, healthcare, entertainment, and communication; the list includes recommendation systems and chatbots, image recognition and smart assistants. The UAIO is age-appropriate and logically and clearly explains these concepts to the students.
In the case of Class 6 students, the test centres on the concepts of machine learning, decision-making models, natural language processing, computer vision, and responsible usage of AI. It motivates the students to be analytical, use ideas in real-life scenarios, and develop a solid basis for further studies in artificial intelligence and technology.
The UAIO is administered online, allowing students to contribute from the comfort of their homes. The test is via multiple-choice questions that are based on different class 6 artificial intelligence concepts. The Class 6 syllabus is aimed at testing the abstract knowledge, logical thinking, and practical use of AI concepts.
The exam duration is 60 minutes. Three mock tests will also be provided to students (one of them will be free) to train them before the final exam. There are three times to take each mock test. The test is separated into two parts:
Classic Section
Definition: This part will test concept knowledge, recognition and simple application.
It dwells on the knowledge of the words, the ability to find the correct uses of AI, and simple reasoning on familiar cases.
Scholar Section
Definition: This part is the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS).
It involves analysis, comparison, interpretation and scenario-based application based on the same syllabus but of a higher level.

Students get to know the regular AI tools and their capabilities.
These involve learning about the use of AI to aid in writing, searching, recommending, translating, recognising and answering questions.

2. Classification, Regression, and Clustering (more advanced ML)
The simple machine learning concepts are presented to the students systematically.
Classification: Categorising things.
Example: Spam and non-spam sorting of emails.
Regression: The prediction of a value.
Problem: How to guess what the temperature will be tomorrow.
Clustering: Having similar things together without predetermined labels.
Example: Segmenting customers according to their shopping habits.
3. Decision Trees
A decision tree is a model that is step-by-step and is applied to make decisions that depend on the given conditions.
Definition:
It is a tree-like system where a question gives rise to another.
Example:
In case of rainy weather, bring an umbrella.

This assists students in appreciating the manner in which machines can be used to make decisions that are governed by rules.
4. NLP (Sentiment Analysis, Chatbots)
NLP assists machines in comprehending as well as processing human language.
Intent Analysis: Recognising the intent of a review or sentence, i.e., whether it is a positive, negative, or neutral sentence.
Chatbots: Artificial intelligence applications that converse and respond to queries.
Example:
A chatbot in a shopping application that assists in monitoring an order by the user.
5. Computer Vision (Pixels, CV Tasks)
Computer vision helps machines to interpret images and videos.
Pixels: Small units that comprise an image.
CV Tasks: Recognising objects, faces, shapes or actions in images.
Example:
A phone unlocking by face recognition or an application that can identify plants based on a photo.
6. Responsible AI Use
The students are informed that the application of AI must be cautious, equitable, and prudent.
This includes:
using AI honestly
protecting privacy
checking information
not using to the disadvantage or prejudice.

Never trust AI to give trusted solutions.
The syllabus will also seek to assist the students in developing a well-rounded knowledge base of AI through integrating concepts, logic, real-world usage, and responsible digital behaviour.
The process of preparing the UAIO for Class 6 needs a careful and organised tactic. At this stage, the students are to get out of memorisation of terms and shift their attention to how AI systems behave, learn and solve issues.
The preparation strategy must start with clarity of the concepts. Learners must initially grasp the concept of the fundamental concepts like classification, regression, clustering, decision trees, sentiment analysis, and computer vision.
