Which Lines Do Not Meet Each Other?

  • Lines that do not meet are called parallel lines.
  • They go in the same direction, but they stay the same distance apart.
  • No matter how long you draw them, they will never touch!
Examples:
  • Railway Tracks:
    • The tracks on a train stay the same distance apart.
    • They go straight and never cross each other.

  • Rulers:
    • If you place two rulers side by side, they do not touch.
    • They keep a space between them all the way down.

  • Road Lines:
    • The lines on a road for cars, like the lane markers, are sometimes parallel.
    • They guide cars, but they do not meet!
