What is the largest three-digit number?

  • The largest three-digit number is 999.
  • This number is special because it has three digits: 9, 9, and 9.
  • If you were to add 1 more, it would become a four-digit number, which is bigger than three digits!
Examples:
  • Counting up to 999:
    • If you start counting from 0, you can reach 999 by saying "1, 2, 3..." all the way up!
    • But remember, 1000 is the next number after 999.

  • Pages in a book:
    • Imagine a big book with 999 pages. The last page would be numbered 999.
    • If there was one more page, it would have the number 1000!

  • Counting marbles:
    • If you had 999 marbles, you would count them all up to that number.
    • One more marble would make it 1000 marbles!
