What is the Difference Between Living and Non-Living Things?

Living things are those that grow, move, need food and water, and can reproduce. Non-living things do not do any of these things. Living things include animals and plants, while non-living things are like rocks and toys.

Example: A dog is a living thing because it plays and eats. A toy car is a non-living thing because it does not grow or need anything to survive.

Fun Fact: Living things can feel and react to their surroundings, but non-living things cannot!
