What is a Vertex?

  • A vertex is a special point where two or more lines meet.
  • It's like the corner of a shape, where the edges come together.
  • When you draw a triangle, the corners of the triangle are the vertices!
Examples:
  • Corner of a table:
    • The corners of your table are vertices because they are where the edges meet.

  • Points in a star:
    • If you draw a star, the points where the lines meet are called vertices.

  • Shapes in a drawing:
    • In a square, the four corners are vertices-two lines each come together at those corners!
