What is a Number Pattern?
- A number pattern is a sequence of numbers that follow a rule.
- It's like a special code for counting or arranging numbers.
- When we recognise patterns, it makes math easier and fun!
Examples:
- Counting by 2's:
- Start at 2: "2, 4, 6, 8, 10." Each number is 2 more than the last.
- This is a pattern because you keep adding the same number.
- Adding 5 each time:
- Start at 5: "5, 10, 15, 20." Each number is 5 more than the last.
- This helps us see how numbers grow!
- Skip Count by 10's:
- Start at 0: "0, 10, 20, 30." Each number is 10 more than the last.
- It shows how quickly we can reach bigger numbers.
