What is a Number?
- A number is a special type of symbol we use to count or measure things.
- It helps us know how many items are there, or what the size of something is.
- We can use numbers to do math and solve problems.
Examples:
- Counting Apples:
- If you have 3 apples, that means the number is 3.
- You can write it like this: "I have 3 apples!"
- Pages in a Book:
- A book has a cover and many pages inside.
- If a book has 15 pages, we write that as the number 15.
- Jumps on a Trampoline:
- If you jump 5 times on a trampoline, we can say that's the number 5.
- You could tell your friends, "I did 5 jumps!"
