What is a Missing Number?
- A missing number is a number that is not shown but should be there.
- It's like finding out what number fits in a puzzle.
- We can figure it out by looking at the other numbers around it.
Examples:
- Finding numbers in a number sentence:
- If we see 3 + __ = 5, the missing number is 2!
- Missing numbers on a number line:
- If the number line shows 1, 2, ___, 4, we can say the missing number is 3!
- Completing a sequence:
- If we have 5, 6, __, 8, we know the missing number is 7!
