What is a Line?

  • A line is a straight path that goes on forever in both directions.
  • It has no end points, like the lines we draw with a ruler.
  • Lines can be horizontal (side to side) or vertical (up and down).
Examples:
  • Roads:
    • Think of a long road that stretches far away; that's like a line!
    • It goes straight and keeps going without stopping.

  • Ruler:
    • When you use a ruler, the edge is a line.
    • You can draw it as long as you want!

  • Laser Pointer:
    • When you use a laser pointer, it shines a straight line on the wall.
    • That line is straight and can go far away!
