What is a Decreasing Pattern?
- A decreasing pattern shows numbers going down instead of up.
- It means we take away a number each time, like counting backwards!
- For example, if we start at 10 and keep taking away 1, we get: 10, 9, 8, 7.
Examples:
- Counting down days:
- If you have 5 days until your birthday, each day you could count down: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!
- Tree leaves:
- Imagine a tree loses leaves in autumn. If it starts with 10 leaves and loses 3, it goes: 10, 7, 4.
- Money savings:
- If you had $20 and spent $5, you can count your money down: $20, $15, $10.
