What does the long hand show?
- The long hand on a clock is called the minute hand.
- It moves around the clock and points to the minutes.
- When it moves, it helps us know how many minutes have passed.
Examples:
- Reading a clock:
- If the long hand is pointing at the 3, it means 15 minutes have passed.
- So, if the short hand points at 1, it's 1:15.
- Counting time for a game:
- If you play a game for 30 minutes, the long hand will show the 6.
- That means 30 minutes have gone by!
- Cooking time:
- If a cake takes 45 minutes to bake, the long hand points to the 9 when it's ready.
- Time to enjoy a yummy cake!
