What are the Units of Weight?

  • Weight tells us how heavy something is.
  • To measure weight, we use special units.
  • Some common units of weight are grams and kilograms.
Examples:
  • Measuring fruit:
    • If you have an apple, it might weigh about 100 grams.
    • If you have a bunch of bananas, they might weigh around 1 kilogram.

  • Weighing yourself:
    • When you stand on a scale, it shows your weight in kilograms.
    • You might weigh around 20 kilograms if you're a little kid.

  • Cooking:
    • If you use sugar to bake cookies, you might use 200 grams of sugar.
    • That's a common amount for many recipes!
