What are the Units of Time?
- Units of time are ways we measure how long things last.
- We might use different words to tell time, like seconds, minutes, and hours.
- Sometimes we even use days, weeks, months, and years!
Examples:
- Seconds:
- When you're waiting for your turn to slide, you might count to 10 seconds.
- That's quick!
- Minutes:
- If you watch a cartoon that is 30 minutes long, you know it's a little bit longer.
- That's how long you might wait for your lunch!
- Hours:
- School usually lasts for about 6 hours each day.
- That's from when the bell rings in the morning to when it rings again in the afternoon!
- Days:
- A week has 7 days, like Monday to Sunday.
- That's how long you have to wait for the weekend!
- Years:
- Each year, we celebrate your birthday!
- Your age is counted by the number of birthdays you have had.
