What are the Three Forms of Water?

  • Water can be found in three forms: solid, liquid, and gas.
  • The solid form is ice, which is cold and hard.
  • The liquid form is water, which we drink and swim in.
  • The gas form is steam or water vapor, which we can't see but is all around us!

Examples:

  • Ice cubes in your drink are the solid form of water.
  • When it rains, the water falling from the sky is the liquid form.
  • When you boil water, the steam that comes out is the gas form of water.

Fun Fact: All three forms of water are important! Ice helps keep our drinks cool, liquid water keeps us alive, and steam can help cook our food.
