What are Hard Rocks?
- Hard rocks are strong, tough rocks that do not break easily.
- They are formed deep in the Earth or by volcanic lava that cools down.
- These rocks can be used to make buildings and roads because they are sturdy.
Examples:
- Granite is a hard rock, often used for kitchen countertops because it does not scratch easily.
- Basalt is another hard rock found in many lava flows and used in construction work.
- Quartzite is super hard too and is used for making sidewalks and tiles.
Fun Fact: Hard rocks are so strong that they can last for millions of years! That's why we see mountains made of hard rocks!
