How Many Hands Does a Clock Have?

  • A clock has three hands that help us tell time.
  • Each hand points to different numbers on the clock face.
  • These hands are the hour hand, the minute hand, and the second hand.
Examples:
  • Hour Hand:
    • The hour hand is the shortest hand.
    • It tells us what hour it is.
    • If it's pointing at 3, it's 3 o'clock!

  • Minute Hand:
    • The minute hand is longer than the hour hand.
    • It tells us how many minutes past the hour it is.
    • If it's pointing at the 6, that means 30 minutes past!

  • Second Hand:
    • The second hand moves the fastest and is usually thin and long.
    • It helps us know how many seconds are passing.
    • If it's moving, you can count "1, 2, 3" to see how fast time goes!
