How many centimetres are in 1 metre?
- 1 metre is a way to measure length.
- Centimetres are smaller than metres.
- There are 100 centimetres in 1 metre.
Examples:
- Measuring a pencil:
- A pencil might be about 20 centimetres long.
- That means if you had 5 pencils in a row, together they would be 1 metre (100 cm).
- Length of a table:
- A small table may be 80 centimetres long.
- If you add 20 more centimetres, it becomes 1 metre long!
- A ruler:
- A standard ruler is usually 30 centimetres long.
- If you had 3 of those rulers lined up, they would be 90 cm, getting close to 1 metre!
