How does the 12 Hour Format Work?

  • The 12-hour format is a way to tell time using numbers from 1 to 12.
  • It repeats twice in a day: once for the morning and once for the evening.
  • We use AM for the morning and PM for the evening.
Examples:
  • Morning Wake Up:
    • If you wake up at 7 in the morning, you say "7 AM."
    • This is before lunchtime.

  • Lunch Time:
    • If you have lunch at 12:30, you say "12:30 PM."
    • This shows it is after midday.

  • Bedtime:
    • If you go to bed at 9 at night, you say "9 PM."
    • This means it is time to sleep.
