How Does a Fax Machine Work?
A fax machine sends pictures and letters from one place to another using phone lines.
- First, you put the paper you want to send into the fax machine.
- The machine then scans the paper and changes it into signals.
- These signals travel through the phone line to reach the other fax machine.
- The other machine gets the signals and turns them back into a paper copy of your original document.
Examples:
- If you want to send a drawing to your friend, you can put it in a fax machine. It will reach your friend quickly!
- A doctor might fax a note to a pharmacy to get medicine for a patient, so they can have it ready.
- A school can send a signed paper to a different school to share important information.
Fun Fact: Fax machines were super popular before people started using emails more often!
