How do we write numbers in words?

  • Writing numbers in words means to take a number and say it as a word.
  • For example, the number "1" becomes "one."
  • We do this for all the numbers we can see!
Examples:
  • Counting apples:
    • If you have 3 apples, you write it as "three apples."
    • Each number has its own word!

  • Money:
    • If you have 10 dollars, you can say it like this: "ten dollars."
    • This helps us understand how much we have!

  • Birthday candles:
    • If you are turning 5 years old, you can write: "five years old."
    • This shows how many candles you need on your cake!
