How do bones and muscles work together in our body?

Bones and muscles work like a team to help our bodies move.

  • Bones are the hard parts inside our body that hold us up.
  • Muscles are soft and help us to pull or push to move our bones.
  • When a muscle pulls on a bone, it makes the bone move.

Example 1: When you want to kick a ball, your leg muscle pulls on your leg bones to move your foot.

Example 2: When you wave your hand, the muscles in your arm pull your arm bones so you can move your hand up and down.

Example 3: When you jump, your leg muscles pull on your leg bones to push you off the ground!

Fun Fact: Bones also help protect your organs, like your heart and lungs, while muscles help you to play and have fun!
