How can we determine the capacity of a bottle?
- To find out how much a bottle can hold, we can fill it with water.
- We can use a cup or a measuring jug to pour water into the bottle.
- Once the bottle is full, we check how many cups or jugs it took to fill it up.
Examples:
- Filling with cups:
- If it takes 5 cups to fill the bottle, then the capacity is 5 cups.
- Each cup is a way to measure how much fits in the bottle.
- Using a measuring jug:
- If you pour from a jug marked with numbers and it takes 2 litres to fill the bottle, then the capacity is 2 litres.
- The jug helps us measure the water easily!
- Comparing with other bottles:
- If you know another bottle holds 1 litre and your bottle takes 3 of those to fill, it holds 3 litres.
- This is a fun way to see how bottles match up in size!
