Are some stars bigger than the Sun?

Yes, some stars are bigger than the Sun!

  • Stars come in many sizes and some are gigantic compared to our Sun.
  • These bigger stars are called "supergiants" and they can be hundreds of times larger than the Sun.
  • Just like how some animals are bigger than others, stars can be different sizes too.

Examples:

  • Betelgeuse is a supergiant star in the Orion constellation and it's huge, much larger than our Sun!
  • VY Canis Majoris is another giant star that is very big, much more massive than the Sun.
  • Antares is also bigger than the Sun and is known as a red supergiant star.

Fun Fact: Even though some stars are very big, they are far away in space, so we can't see their size from Earth!
