Why do we use pictographs?
- Pictographs are pictures or drawings that show information or data.
- They help people understand numbers easily using images instead of just words or numbers.
- This makes it fun and simple to see how much of something there is.
Examples:
- Fruit Sales:
- If a shop sells apples, oranges, and bananas, a pictograph can show each fruit with a picture and a few drawings.
- For example, 1 apple picture can mean 10 apples sold!
- Classroom Pets:
- If a class has pets like fish, hamsters, and birds, a pictograph could show how many of each pet there are.
- Each picture could show a different number of pets, making it easy to compare them.
- Book Reading:
- If students read books, a pictograph can show how many books each student has read.
- Each picture can represent one book, helping see who read the most!
