What is the Boiling Point of Water?
- The boiling point of water is when water gets really hot and starts to change from a liquid to steam.
- This happens at 100 degrees Celsius or 212 degrees Fahrenheit at sea level.
- When water boils, you can see bubbles and steam rising from it.
Examples:
- Cooking Pasta:
- When you boil water to cook pasta, it bubbles and makes steam when it reaches 100 degrees Celsius.
- Making Tea:
- If you heat water in a kettle for tea, listen for the kettle whistle when it boils.
- Boiling an Egg:
- When you put an egg in boiling water, the water must be really hot, at its boiling point.
