How do Fruits Protect Seeds?

  • Fruits are like special jackets that keep seeds safe.
  • They help keep seeds away from animals that might want to eat them.
  • Fruits also help plants spread seeds far away so new plants can grow.

Example 1: An apple protects its seeds inside the sweet and crunchy part. When animals eat the apple, they might drop the seeds far away, helping a new apple tree grow.

Example 2: A coconut is covered by a hard shell which keeps its seed safe from the ocean and animals. This helps the coconut float in water to reach new places.

Example 3: A strawberry has little seeds on its outside. The fruit attracts animals to eat it, and when the animals eat strawberries, they spread the seeds around in their poop!

Fun Fact: Fruits can come in many shapes and colors, each helping to protect their seeds in their own special way!
